The AI Native Development Flow

AI native development using an agent proceeds from formulating the specifications through to packaging a user module, repeating generation and verification along the way.

Basic Flow

What you can instruct the agent to do

For details on what you can instruct the agent to do in each step, see Skill Sets.

  1. When creating the project, select IM-BPM as one of the Modules to Use, or specify a war that includes IM-BPM
  2. Start the agent
  3. Place the BPMN (XML) file you want to use as the basis for specification generation under doc/
  4. Instruct the agent to generate the specifications
    • Create the specifications from doc/<BPM process name>.bpmn
  5. The specifications are saved under doc/<BPM process name>-prompt
  6. Review the content of the specifications and make corrections and amendments
    • Correct the BPMN itself and instruct the agent to reflect the differences into the specifications, or regenerate the specifications separately
    • Instruct the agent to correct the specifications
    • Edit the specifications directly to correct them
  7. Based on the generated and corrected specifications, instruct the agent to generate the code
  8. The artifacts are saved under src/
  9. Instruct the agent to reflect the specifications and the generated code into the BPMN
    • Reflect the content described in the specifications (process definition key, roles, process variables, and so on) into the BPMN file
    • Add the paths of the scripts produced by code generation to the start events and user tasks in the BPMN
  10. Instruct the agent to incorporate the reflected BPMN into the tenant environment setup assets
    • If foundation assets such as roles, authorization, and DDL have not been generated yet, they are generated as well
  11. Build the artifacts so far (code, BPMN, and tenant environment setup assets) as a user module
  12. Deploy the module to the staging environment of the AI-native Development Support Feature and run the tenant environment setup
    • Running the tenant environment setup automatically registers the BPMN in the process designer (if no project exists in the process designer, one is created automatically, so you do not need to create it in advance; see the generated import script)
  13. In the process designer, open the registered BPM process, review its content, and save it
  14. Deploy the BPM process from the process designer
  15. If the behavior is faulty, ask the agent to fix it
About permitting AI operations during artifact generation

While you have work in progress with the agent, the agent may ask for permission to perform operations such as the following. When permission is requested, confirm that the operation is within the project before granting it.

  • Saving files
  • Executing Node.js scripts
