What Is intra-mart Accel Platform (iAP)?

All of the development covered in this documentation is built on intra-mart Accel Platform.

intra-mart Accel Platform (hereafter iAP) is an enterprise low-code platform with rich functionality to meet business needs. It provides an open development environment that is easy to customize for business-specific requirements, supported by a wide range of frameworks.

For a more detailed overview of iAP, refer to the official documentation, intra-mart Accel Platform Introduction.

Relationship with intra-mart e Builder for Accel Platform

Traditionally, intra-mart e Builder for Accel Platform (an Eclipse-based integrated development environment, hereafter e Builder) has been used to develop custom applications (user modules) for iAP. The Visual Studio Code (hereafter VSCode)-based development environment covered in this documentation can also create and build user modules.

To understand the e Builder development workflow, refer to the intra-mart e Builder for Accel Platform Application Development Guide and the intra-mart Accel Platform user module Development Guide.

Prerequisite Knowledge

The prerequisite knowledge you need is not the same for every task. The knowledge required differs slightly among building an environment on a local PC, building an environment using Docker, and installing the AI-native Development Support Feature. Check the item that corresponds to the task you are about to perform.

Building the Local Development Environment

For the task of building a development environment on a local PC using Visual Studio Code and Accel CLI, the assumed and non-assumed knowledge are organized as follows.

CategoryContent
Not assumedProgramming language details, Bun (JavaScript runtime) concepts, Maven (build tool) build and packaging concepts, VSCode experience, CLI (command-line interface) experience
AssumedBasic operations of your OS (any one of Windows / macOS / Linux): creating files and folders, launching applications

Building an Environment with Docker

The following knowledge and experience are assumed for the task of building an iAP environment using Docker:

  • Command-line operation (any of bash, zsh, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Basic web browser operation.
  • Basic Git operations (at a minimum, the ability to run clone).

Knowledge of Docker itself is not assumed. Frequently used Docker terms are summarized in Basic Docker Terminology. For a deeper understanding, refer to Docker Docs as well.

Installing the AI-native Development Support Feature

The following knowledge and experience are assumed for the task of adding the AI-native Development Support Feature to the iAP development environment:

  • Command-line operation (any of bash, zsh, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Basic web browser operation.
  • Experience building an iAP development environment (understanding the procedures for building an Accel Platform environment).

Command-line (CLI) operation is not assumed for building the local development environment, whereas it is assumed for building an environment with Docker and for installing the AI-native Development Support Feature. Before starting, check the prerequisites for the task you are going to perform.

Opening a Terminal

Many of the steps use a terminal, where you type commands. Here is how to open one on each OS.

Windows

  • Open PowerShell: Start menu → type "PowerShell" → select "Windows PowerShell".
  • Open as Administrator: Right-click the search result above → select "Run as administrator".
  • Open Command Prompt: Start menu → type "cmd" → select "Command Prompt".

For building the local development environment, this documentation uses PowerShell unless otherwise specified.

For building an environment with Docker, Windows assumes the use of a WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux 2) terminal. For WSL2 setup and terminal selection, see Before You Begin (Docker).

macOS

  • Open Terminal.app: Press Command + Space to open Spotlight, type "Terminal", and press Enter.
  • Alternatively, open Finder → "Applications" → "Utilities" → "Terminal.app".

Linux

  • On most desktop environments, press Ctrl + Alt + T to open a terminal.
  • You can also select "Terminal", "Terminal", or "GNOME Terminal" from the application menu.
